Underage Sales
This section details all areas of the law in relation to underage sales which may affect you. If you sell age restricted products you are legally obliged to know the law in relation to undergae sales.
It may not always be easy to refuse to sell products to persons who you suspect may be undergae, but we hope that the information contained in this section will help you to do this.
Please make sure that all new staff read this information and use it as a reminder every few months.
To prove that you do refuse to sell to underage persons, use a refusals book to keep details of each refusal. Keep it available near your point of sale.
If customers cannot prove they are old enough, refuse the sale and record it in the refusals book.
